AKÜ eduroam Help Page
The Afyon Kocatepe University eduroam service provides secure wireless network access to AKÜ users on university campuses and at other eduroam member institutions, and to users from other eduroam member institutions on AKÜ campuses.
This page has been prepared in accordance with the provisions of the eduroam Turkey Participation Agreement, the ULAKNET Usage Policy, and the AKÜ Acceptable Use Policy. All users of the eduroam service are required to comply with these rules, their own institution’s acceptable use policy, and AKÜ’s rules for the use of IT resources.
Important Notice
If you are not a member of Afyon Kocatepe University, do not follow this guide. You must apply the settings specific to your own institution on your devices. If your institution is not an eduroam member, you can connect to the akuroam network at various locations on our campus.

The safest and easiest method is to configure your device using eduroam CAT or geteduroam.

- Go to cat.eduroam.org using a connection with internet access.
- Select Afyon Kocatepe University as the institution.
- Download and run the recommended setup for your device.
- Enter your institutional email address in the username field.
- Enter your email password in the password field.
- Select the eduroam network from the Wi-Fi networks.
The geteduroam app can also be used on mobile devices.

Manual connection settings
Important Notice
This method may leave your device vulnerable to fake eduroam network attacks.
If CAT/geteduroam is unavailable, the following settings can be tried.

Menu names may vary depending on the Android version. If a certificate verification screen appears, it is recommended that you install the CAT/geteduroam profile on your device; manually skipping certificate verification is not recommended for security reasons.
Scope
The eduroam SSID is broadcast as eduroam and is visible on AKÜ campuses. Coverage is limited to buildings, common areas, and open spaces where wireless access points are located.

Coverage information is subject to change due to wireless infrastructure work. If the eduroam network is not visible in a specific building or on a specific floor, please create a support ticket along with your location information.
Web caching / proxy
There are no web caching or proxy settings that users need to configure separately for the AKÜ eduroam connection. Unless otherwise specified in an institutional announcement, leave your device’s proxy setting set to automatic or off.

Users are responsible for the account information they use to access the network. If you suspect that your account is being used by someone else, change your password and notify the Office of Information Technology.
Registration and tracking information
When accessing eduroam, connection logs are maintained to ensure the security of the service and to fulfill legal obligations. These logs may include technical records such as the time of authentication, information about the requesting network device or RADIUS server, the authentication result, IP/MAC addresses, and the reasons for failed connections.
Records are stored in a manner accessible to authorized technical personnel in accordance with relevant legislation and institutional information security processes. If requested by legal authorities, the relevant records may be shared in accordance with the law.
Troubleshooting

| I'm getting a password error | Make sure to enter your username as your full email address and that your password is up to date. |
| The phone connects but there is no internet | Delete the old eduroam profile and reinstall it using CAT/geteduroam. |
| A certificate warning is appearing | Use the CAT/geteduroam profile instead of performing the setup manually. |
| I can't connect at another institution | Test your AKÜ account on the AKÜ campus; if the problem persists, contact BİDB. |
