AKU eduroam Help Page
Afyon Kocatepe University eduroam service allows AKU users to connect securely at AKU campuses and at other eduroam member institutions. It also allows visitors from eduroam member institutions to connect at AKU campuses by using the credentials issued by their home institution.
This page is prepared in accordance with the eduroam Turkey Participation Agreement and the ULAKNET Acceptable Use Policy. All users must comply with these rules, their home institution's acceptable use policy, and AKU information technology usage rules.
Quick setup
The safest and easiest method is to configure your device with eduroam CAT or geteduroam.
Detailed instructions for different devices and operating systems are available on the Device Setup page.
- Open cat.eduroam.org using an internet connection.
- Select Afyon Kocatepe University as your institution.
- Download and run the recommended installer for your device.
- Enter your institutional e-mail address as the username.
- Enter your e-mail password.
- Select the eduroam Wi-Fi network.
The geteduroam application can also be used on mobile devices. AKU service processes recommend geteduroam for mobile configuration.

Coverage
At AKU locations, the eduroam SSID is broadcast visibly as eduroam. Coverage is limited to buildings, shared spaces, and outdoor areas with wireless access points.
| Campus / unit | Status |
|---|---|
| Ahmet Necdet Sezer Campus | Buildings and shared areas where eduroam is available |
| AKU academic and administrative units | Indoor areas where eduroam is available |
| Other AKU campus and service locations | Gradual coverage in areas with wireless infrastructure |
Coverage may change due to wireless infrastructure work. If you cannot see the eduroam network in a specific building or floor, create a support request with location details.
Web cache / proxy
No additional web cache or proxy setting is required for the AKU eduroam connection. Unless announced otherwise by the university, keep your device proxy setting automatic or off.
Usage policies
eduroam use is subject to the following policies and rules:
- eduroam Turkey Participation Agreement
- ULAKNET Acceptable Use Policy
- AKU Information Resources Usage Policy
- eduroam Turkey
Users are responsible for the credentials they use for network access. If you suspect that your account is being used by someone else, change your password and notify the Directorate of Information Technology.
Logging information
Connection logs are kept for service security and legal obligations. These logs may include authentication time, requesting network device or RADIUS information, authentication result, IP/MAC address, and failure reasons for unsuccessful attempts.
Logs are stored in accordance with applicable legislation and institutional information security processes, and can be accessed by authorized technical personnel. When legally requested, relevant records may be shared with competent authorities in accordance with the law.
Troubleshooting

| My phone connects but has no internet | Remove the old eduroam profile and reinstall it with CAT/geteduroam. |
| A certificate warning appears | Use the CAT/geteduroam profile instead of manual setup. |
| I cannot connect at another institution | Test your AKU account on an AKU campus first; if the issue continues, contact IT support. |
